So, Whedon has ended the Spike/Buffy relationship off camera so to speak, as well as given Dawn and Xander a kid and paired Angel off with Illyria. The artwork is horrible and the writing comes across as bad fanfic to me. A couple of panels under the cut...

Date: 2018-06-21 12:56 am (UTC)So, Buffy and Spike had a comics relationship? And there’s been a huge timeskip? And... stuff?
Gotta say, the panels you’ve shown look really boring.

I think I will pass on the S12 comics...and stop with S11. The best season by far was S10. No reason to waste my money.
Whedon's writing has really gone downhill. The dialogue is atrocious and doesn't make any sense.
Note to Whedon -- you don't break up characters off-screen like that. Nor do you wipe the relationship moments under the rug just because you don't want to write about it. Get someone else to. I'd become invested in the relationship, because you and the other writers sold me on it in S9-11. Coming in now and acting like it doesn't work during the quiet moments...is a bit like hitting a character with a bus. It's narrative short-hand or LAZY writing. Beginning to see what happened with that Batgirl script.
